Introduction:
Weintek HMI allows you to maintain constant contact with your product by enabling you to configure your HMI to send text messages and email alerts.
Software Version:
EasyBuilder Pro 6.03.02.463+
Instructions:
-
Begin by navigating to the “System Parameters” section within the “Home” tab in EasyBuilder Pro:
-
In the “System Parameters Setting,” locate the “e-Mail” tab. Then, select the “Enable e-mail function” option:
-
Next, configure the “Server” and “Port no.” that you would like to use. Below, you will find a list of common mail server addresses. (B) Afterward, input your email address and password. (C) You can also enhance security by selecting the appropriate checkboxes: Note: Depending on your email provider, you may need to configure your email settings to allow third-party email providers to send messages to your email.
-
Now, customize the “Sender Information” section to your preferences. You can set a custom name for the sender or leave it as the default device name. Then, enter the “Mail address” for the HMI:
-
Proceed to select “Recipient.”:
-
In the “Recipient” window (B), add names to the (A) Contact list. You’ll need to provide both the “Contact Name” and “Mail address.” For text messages, enter your phone number followed by your phone plan’s email domain. You can organize these contacts into groups using the “No. of groups” option to create multiple groups.
-
To assign a contact to a group, select the name in the “Contact List” and click the right arrow to move them into the group. If you want to remove someone from the group, select their name and click the left arrow. In the example below, you can see that John has been added to the group, while Alex has not. You can use the “Current group” drop-down menu to select different groups and customize their members:
-
Finally, test your email configuration by using the “Test SMTP Settings” button. In the window that appears, select a group of people you would like to send the test message to. If you receive the test message or email successfully, your device is now set up and ready to use!
