We have a machine that is currently running a Slc 5/05 with the plan to eventually convert to a 1769-l33er compact logix. If the Hmi program is created for the Slc 5/05 is there a way to convert the hmi program (tags) to newer Compact Logix? Thank you for any insight.

Could you please provide screenshots of your Device tab under the System Parameters, as well as the tag names assigned to objects in your existing project? This would help us find and offer the best solution for you!
I do not have a program yet. I am looking to see if it would be productive to make the hmi program based off the slc 5/05 controller and then (in a year or so) switch to a compact logix controller.
We did some testing here in office and based on what we found, you would have to re-map your tags from the SLC 5/05 to the Compact Logix. At this time there is not a seamless way to make that conversion.
