I’m testing the trend objects on a Dashboard, and the HMI time matches the PST time object on the Dashboard project, but the time stamps on the data as seen in the trends / Tag History objects do not line up and I’m trying to figure out how to rectify.

I’m trying to have my trends / Tag history objects display the data for the last hour. At the time of this writing, the ACTUAL time on the HMI is 4/16/25, 8:■■:■■ PST. The data time stamp coming into the dashboard historic data is all stamped at 4/15/25, 17:■■:■■

The Tag history objects dont work at all, unless i click on the header bar and manually aim them at the time time stamped data interval, as the data isn’t getting dated right as its being recorded, the “last hour” of data doesnt have corresponding data to display.

How do I correct the time stamps of the data as it’s being recorded?

On a related note, on the widget tutorial on youtube, you can set the format of the date/time in the trend objects, but live on the project editing screen currently, there is no format selecting (nor gradation adjustments) in the setup pane. Were these features removed?

Did you already set the “HMI time zone” to UTC -8 that is the PST time zone? Image:

Yes. That maybe kinda helped? Now on the screen, the “Local HMI Time” says its in UTC -8, the time matches my PC time. The time in webserver matches my PC time. BUT, in the data sources tab of Weincloud, and in the Dashboard project list, it shows HMI time as UTC -7 still. Why? Where is it getting this from?

I think this is due to the DST (Daylight Saving Time). You will check the “Automatically set daylight saving time” option.

I have verified this. The HMI Time matches the HMI RTC (PST time zone).

you are correct! That fixed it. Thanks Tim.

Would sync’ing to an NTP server replace the need for this? Having to have the time zone hard coded into the project is problematic for systems that may travel and cross time zones. I also see the system tag for time zone, does this manipulate the HMI time that is set when you change the system time settings in the setup window, or is this modifying the “sync” time set in the Time Sync tab of the system parameters. It’s unclear which settings affect which time. I’m hoping for an easy way to set the time zone from the screen instead of having to hardcode it into the project.

The NTP Server feature in EBpro is not used to replace the need for this. The NTP Server can only calibrate the HMI’s clock when the HMI is connected to the internet or accessible NTP server on a private network, but you still have to set up the respective HMI time zone in your EBpro project.
Regarding the system tag for time zone and other time related parameters, I will send you a demo project that shows how to use them.
The system tag for time zone manipulates the HMI time.
