Data Sampling - Trend and History

Data Sampling - Trend and History

Would you please explain (in simple terms) how Trend data and History data overlap. If data is being trended, then anything older than current time is “history” (and we dont know the future so cannot trend that). If there was no history in a trend chart it would be a single point, and be rather meaningless. How much “history” can be shown on a Trend chart? Is there a limit? Is data that flows “off the edge of the chart” lost, or can it be retrieved?

I see that the History Display is a table of data, which can be saved to USB memory. How can I retrieve history data from USB memory? Is there a way to retrieve it other than by removing the USB memory? Is there any way to extract history data from the HMI/USB memory using eg the local PC running EasybuilderPro or maybe via EasyAccess. Could the HMI email a history file?

Hi @BrianF_NZ ,

The backup object allows you to transfer your data to a USB drive, which you can then access. If your HMI supports email, the option will be available within the backup object. Here is a post on the setup process. LINK

The trend display history can show up to a maximum of 6 MB of data. Beyond that, the data must be saved to HMI memory or a USB drive; otherwise, it will be lost.
