Extended Memory Addresses

Extended Memory Addresses

I have installed a 1TB SD card in my SVR-100 but am unable to access the EM addresses. Under system parameters > Extended Memory all radio buttons are set to SD card and named default EM0 thru EM15. I have a bunch of SQL query outputs going to EM1 addresses, but none of them populate. I confirmed the issue with a basic numeric object pointing to EM7 100 address but when I download the program to the HMI and open it in CMT Viewer none of the objects are visible.

When I run the program in simulation mode straight from EBP the objects are present and everything works, it’s only when trying to access the EM addresses on the actual program.

Hi @jmc101,

Can you advise the “File system” format of the SD card? Currently we support external storage devices that utilize the FAT32 file system. To find the “File System”:

  1. Insert the SD card into your PC.
  2. Right click on the SD card within the file explorer and select “Properties”:

  3. The “File system” is shown within the “General” tab:

If this SD is not formatted to the FAT32 file system, you may be able to use a 3rd party application to format the SD to FAT32.

It is formatted as exFAT. So it has to be FAT32?

Yes, the HMI cannot read or write to a storage device that utilizes the EXFAT or NTFS file system.

Understood, thanks!
