How to Fix “Missing Library” Errors in Weintek CODESYS Projects

Introduction:

When opening a CODESYS project, you may see a “missing library” error if the Weintek CODESYS Library is not installed on your PC. This post walks through how to install the Weintek CODESYS package and then reload your project so the missing library error is cleared.

Software Version:

CODESYS: 3.5.15.50

Instructions:

Install Weintek’s CODESYS package

  1. Close the current project that is throwing the missing library error.
    [File] > [Close Project]

  2. Download the Weintek CODESYS package. This is available on our forum software download page: Link

  3. With the project closed, navigate to the Tools tab, then select Package Manager. Uninstall and previous versions of Weintek’s CODESYS package and install the package(s) downloaded in the previous step.


  4. Once successfully installed, re-open the initial project and verify that the library error has cleared.

  5. If the error persists, please follow the steps in the next section.

Add or update Weintek’s CODESYS library

  1. Within the CODESYS project open the “Library Manager”:

  2. Select “Weintek CODESYS Library…” and click on the “Delete Library" button at the top:

  3. Click on the “Add Library” button:

  4. Select “Weintek CODESYS Library” within the “Miscellaneous” section and click “OK”:

  5. Re-build the project to clear any original errors.
