MODBUS RTU function code 4x_bit
“The function code is the same as 4x. The difference is that 4x_bit reads a single bit in the data.”

Problem: 4x_bit does not appear in the EBP/Numerics Properties/“Address type” drop-down list, so do not find a way to specify/use 4x_bit. (type 4x_32bit does appear, but MODBUS RTU is 16-bit.)

Address Types

Thank you for contributing to our forum! Please note that objects only support address types that are compatible with their format. For example, a word-type address can only be referenced by a word-type object, such as a Numeric or ASCII object.

Similarly, bit-type addresses like 4X_bit can only be referenced by bit-type objects, such as a Toggle Switch or Set Bit. A bit-type address cannot be referenced by a word-type object like a Numeric object.
Note: This methodology applies to tag-based PLCs as well
