Hi everyone,

I’m starting to explore the new EasyBuilder X development environment after using EasyBuilder Pro for a long time.

In EasyBuilder Pro, I frequently used the Free Protocol (User-Defined Protocol) for custom serial/Ethernet communications with non-standard devices or custom hardware.

However, when creating a new project or adding a system device in EasyBuilder X, I cannot find the Free Protocol option in the protocol/device driver list.

Could someone clarify:

  1. Is the Free Protocol driver currently supported in EasyBuilder X?

  2. If it is already available under a different name or configuration menu, where can I locate it?

  3. If it is not yet implemented, is there a planned roadmap or release schedule for introducing custom user-defined protocol support in EasyBuilder X?

Thank you for your question! EasyBuilder X is still in its initial stages of development, and additional features and device drivers will be introduced in future releases.

At this time, the Free Protocol (User-Defined Protocol) driver available in EasyBuilder Pro is not yet supported in EBX, as the development team is currently prioritizing drivers for mainstream PLCs.
