I have two MT8072iP HMIs configured as Modbus RTU slaves on the same Modbus RTU bus. I am reading 28 registers (LW0 to LW27) from the master.

I am experiencing a strange issue: the first request always results in a timeout, and only the second request (a retry) receives a correct response from the HMIs.

The HMIs are configured with a timeout of 200 ms, and they are the only devices on the bus showing this behavior. From the master, I have tested both Input Register reads and Holding Register read/write operations, with the same result.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could test or check to diagnose this issue?
