Our Operation Log is listing two entries each time a momentary button is used, one for on and off. Is there are way to eliminate the second entry? The duplication makes the log appear as if there are duplication errors.

Thanks!

Hi @psimm,

Could you please share screenshots showing what the duplicate files look like, as well as how your Operation Log is configured to trigger a save based on the bit? If possible, please include images of both the toggle switch setup and the Operation Log configuration.

Thank you!

Thanks for your quick reply, Aaron. I will work with my team to gather the information and get back with you.

Aaron,

Each of the buttons that are creating a duplicate entry in the Op Log have the same setup. They are Toggle Switches, however are utilizing a Momentary style:

We are guessing because they are momentary switches that we’re getting one Log entry from the “push” and one from the “release”. The Op Log settings are enabled utilizing the “Enable” check box and providing custom comment based on our input. Seems pretty straight forward. We are not getting a double entry from the Toggle Switch style.

Hi @psimm,

Your guess is correct. When a toggle switch is set to Momentary, the Operation Log records both the ON action (when the button is pressed) and the OFF action (when it is released). If the button is pressed and released quickly, this can appear as a duplicate entry. If the toggle switch is held for a few seconds, you will see that the second log entry does not occur until the button is released.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you!

As always, thank you for your help!
