Connecting to remote Codesys PLC via OpenVPN

Connecting to remote Codesys PLC via OpenVPN

I’m trying to connect to Codesys running on CMT2078X.
OpenVPN creates a Virtual IP address for each device on the Network. When trying to add device with this virtual address via UDP/IP Codesys does not accept it saying there is no route to this address, when using TCP/IP it just scanning the network and does not add device.
TAP adapter is running and I can access other device on the network

Hi vladmen,

Thank you for your question. What LAN port are you using to connect your OpenVPN to Codesys.

-Aaron

Both ports on HMI are connected to the local Ethernet switch, which is connected to VPN device.

Could you try running a ping test to verify if the IP address you’re trying to reach is currently active and responding?

Yes, I can ping it via virtual IP address

That is good to hear. Next you provide me the Codesys version you are using and a picture of your Codsys IDE like the example below:

Codesys V3.5 SP15 Patch5 + (64-bit)

Getting an error when trying to attach image to the post

Could you uploading one more time.

Here are a couple more images to illustrate my setup

Can you try the following:

  1. Please enter the virtual IP address directly into the drop-down menu to establish the connection.

  2. Could you also enable Codesys login as in this post: How to enable Codesys login

Also one more question. Is the virtual IP at 10.16.32.20 routed through LAN1 or LAN2?

That did it.

Thank you so much for your support.
