Hi Team WeinTek - Our team has tried and failed to establish 2-Wire BACnet MS/TP communications, with the cMT-FHDX-220 HMI acting as Client/Master for a network of BACnet MS/TP Server/Slaves.

Seems scant documentation regarding BACnet MS/TP, or did I miss it somewhere?

Thank you.

Hi @JimWalls,

Did you read through the BACnet/MSTP connection guide by chance? This document is located within the ‘PLC Support’ section of our forum:

Hi Brendon,
We’ve made some progress but problems remain. Please see attached for current focus. Second reply to include last two PowerPoint screenshots.

Note to Admin
7 pages of PowerPoint were required to fully document issues raised in the case. No PowerPoint upload, only 5 image files per upload, gathering screenshots labor-intensive. Portal is limited per function, obstructive as much as facilitative. pdf upload would help cases such as this.

6 of 7 and 7 of 7 screenshots.

Hi @JimWalls,

The error message below has occurred because the “BACnet/MSTP” tag does not exist within your project. To ensure accuracy, please use the API to create the GetDataEx statements: Link
Note: Please see steps 5 - 9 mentioned in the link above.

Regarding (Q2), the correct entry would be a valid tag name within your device, it may appear as in the example image below:

However, as noted it is best to use the API to select tags as explained in the post linked in my first paragraph. The API (e.g., “GET / SET FN…” button) would also allow you to set the device name as referenced in (Q3).
